Meet Lindsey+Kevin… we had the pleasure of working with these two for 18+ months helping them to plan their wedding from start to finish. They are a super fun couple who were living in Chicago (they’ve since moved out to California) and planned a destination wedding in Michigan—the brides home state. Lindsey has a demanding job that requires her to travel every single week, so they brought us on board to help them with full service wedding planning. One of the best parts of full service planning is that we get to work with couples for such a long time and get to know them—we absolutely loved these two and they were so much fun to work with! Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your very special day! All of the photos below are from the fabulous Jami Fujawa and Melissa Brentlinger of Jennifer Mayo Studios.

I loved working with Lindsey to create a beautiful design concept for their wedding at The Veranda at the Whitcomb. We used a beautiful navy shantung linen, with lots of crisp white flowers and stationery, and pops of powdery light blue and silver. Lindsey loves photography, so we decided to create a subtle theme using frames, and incorporated them in several places: Behind the dessert table we hung frames that incorporated cute signs with the couples name, cupcake flavors, and their wedding date. The signs coordinated with their other stationery pieces, and it was a great way to create a backdrop for their dessert table, and also let guests know what types of cupcake flavors the couple was offering from Mimi’s Cupcakes!
On the escort card table, we had a focal piece created with a large picture frame that was surrounded by florals…the rest of the table featured various photo frames holding the escort cards. It was adorable! Crystal Springs Florist brought all of Lindsey’s floral dreams to life, and they did an amazing job executing the designs. The tables featured three different centerpieces…a cluster of tiered clear vases featuring white roses, fluffy hydrangeas and lots of candlelight; tall trumpet vases filled with giant white calla lilies and a lower centerpiece that was packed with white blooms. It made for a clean and modern look on the tables that was perfect for this couples style. Overhead, the crew at Mod Event Ligting hung our gorgeous white lanterns that were illuminated with incandescent light. I absolutely love this look– it gives the Veranda such a soft, romantic glow!
If you’re looking for a special send-off at the end of the night, there isn’t anything much better along the lake shore than some late-night sparklers! It does take a little coordinating with 150+ people lighting them, but it makes for a fun and exciting send-off! We’ll be posting soon about how to coordinate the perfect sparkler send-off, in case you’re interested in making this happen at your upcoming wedding. You can view even more photos from this wedding on our Facebook page!
Lindsey+Kevin, we can’t tell you how much we loved helping you to plan your beautiful Michigan wedding at The Veranda. We wish you many, many happy years and many more amazing celebrations!

Back in June, this happy couple said “I Do” in beautiful Southwest Michigan. Their intimate church ceremony was followed by an anthropologie-inspired reception at The Veranda @ The Whitcomb, where guests enjoyed a delicious meal form CK Catering and a band that kept them dancing all night long. One of my favorite things about this wedding was how unique everything was. Each and every one of the guest tables was completely different.
We used a huge collection of milk glass, vintage bottles and silver pieces to create an eclectic mix of centerpieces. A huge thanks to Crystal Springs Florist for pulling it all together! Another detail we just loved was the cake topper! The bride and groom both love owls and their cake topper was two owls in a nest – so cute! The burlap runners added a nice touch of texture to the tables while still keeping the tables bright and clean looking–simplicity was definitely the key to this one! A huge thanks to the girls at 430 Studios for capturing the beautiful details of the day.

Laura and Joe tied the knot in October, on a beautiful fall day in Southwest Michigan. I (Jessica) designed their wedding, and Brittany coordinated it…I’ve been so excited to see the photos and video of their special day! The ceremony took place at St. Johns Catholic Parish with a reception at The Veranda at the Whitcomb in downtown St. Joseph. They had a gorgeous fall color palette of oranges, reds and yellows, with a pop of plum. We’ll post more about details later, but here is a fabulous video sneak peek from Jason at Highway 61 Films:

The last month has been NUTS around here, and we’re so excited to get to share so many of our June weddings already! It wouldn’t have been June without a crazy wedding schedule filled with fabulous beach weddings! A beach ceremony followed by a reception at the Veranda is (in my opinion) an amazing combo! The open-air setting of the Veranda is such a perfect complement to a wedding on the shores of Lake Michigan. The marigold and gray color combo was another winner—I just loved how clean and bright everything looked, with crisp white linens, gray napkins, gorgeous pops of yellow in the centerpieces and we hung some beautiful clusters of lantern lighting over the dance floor!
The flowers from Crystal Springs couldn’t have been more perfect…from the adorable craspedia balls, to the oncidium orchid centerpieces, they were as bright and fun as this couple! Jessica+JT, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your special day—we LOVED working with you and we are so glad you got the PERFECT day for a beach wedding—you deserved it! Many best wishes in the future! Thanks to the lovely ladies at 430Studios for all of the gorgeous photos!

Sweet bride? Check. Beautiful day? Check. A wonderful groom, fantastic location & tons of fun family and friends? Check. Check and Check! On August 7th we coordinated the wedding of Dave+Shannon, who tied the knot in a lovely & personal ceremony on the beach, followed by a reception at the Veranda at the Whitcomb in downtown St. Joseph.

Three things I loved about this wedding:
1) They opted for freshly made pies (complete with a heart cut on top) that sat at each guest table. Shannon collected a variety of cake plates, and Crystal Springs provided beautiful wreaths of flowers and greenery to wrap around them. They made for beautiful centerpieces!
2) Their signature drinks was the Matrimotini—-too cute!
3) The escort cards were adorable—tiny paper umbrellas that were tucked into wicker trays filled with sand. They were colorful, cute and a perfect tie-in to their beach wedding!
Shannon and Dave, thank you for letting us be a part of such a beautiful day, and for being so much fun to plan with! All photos are courtesy of Kelly Powers Photography—we’ll post more soon!

On August 20th we coordinated the wedding of Holly+Tavis in St. Joseph. After a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Shadowland Ballroom, Holly+Tavis had a fun-filled reception at the Veranda at the Whitcomb in downtown St. Joseph.

I have to say the highlight of the evening was when Holly+Tavis started their first dance to Kenny Chesney’s “You and Me” and then broke into a beautiful (and lively) dance to “Some kind of Wonderful.” It was literally one of the best choreographed ballroom-style dances I’ve ever seen and I can’t wait to see how All Star Productions captured it on film! But just one sneak peek today, and that’s the lovely photos from Melissa at Jennifer Mayo Studios!

When bride Abby contacted me and said she wanted us to help her design her tented wedding in Holland, I was thrilled, because meeting with her and looking at her inspiration photos, I knew this would be fun! She had a fantastic color palette of marigold and gray in mind and had already picked out her bridesmaids dresses from anthropologie, so we had some great inspiration! And no wedding is complete without the perfect floral designer, and for this wedding I knew that had to be Modern Day Floral in Grand Rapids. When it comes to unique designs, Jenn at Modern Day Floral can always deliver! With the bride planning from another state, Jenn and I sat down and plotted out our plan of attack…unique and vibrant yellow flowers, sleek white containers, lots of adorable craspedia (those fuzzy little yellow balls of goodness shown below that I’m in love with!) and gorgeous gray tuscano linens from La Tavola. Simply lovely. And of course, a huge thanks to Kara Purtell who captured it all so beautifully—you can see more photos on her blog!

Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of seeing another of our full-service weddings come to fruition this summer as we watched Justin+Lisa tied the knot in St. Joseph! Lisa had a beautiful and unique vision, and I was so happy with how it all turned out! Like many couples we work with, Lisa+Justin originally contemplated having a destination wedding in Mexico, but wanted to be surrounded by many of their family and friends who would not be able to travel, so opted to have their destination wedding in Southwest Michigan!
From the beautiful coral garden roses and pearlized shell napkin rings (hand crafted by the bride) to the oversized paper lanterns, elegant silver chiavari chairs and gorgeous La Tavola linens, I loved how this wedding reflected the brides Caribbean beach-chic syle.

Due to scattered showers, we moved the beach ceremony inside to the Krasl Art Center, which was stunning with a mahogany chuppah draped in white fabric and a gorgeous orchid & crystal chandelier by Beikmann Associates Floral! At the reception, Drop35 kept people dancing all night long as guests enjoyed the beautiful evening weather at the Veranda at the Whitcomb—an open-air, lake-view venue in downtown St. Joseph!

All of these gorgeous photos were captured by St. Joseph wedding photographer Ben Pancoast. We had a stellar group of vendos working on this wedding and also have to say thank you to CK Catering, ‘Lil Fox bartending, Davone Simon (cake), Pro Show lighting and All Star Productions video!
Lisa+Justin, thank you for letting us help you plan a beautiful destination wedding in SW Michigan and many wishes for years and years of happiness!
On Tuesday we shared a sneak peak of Jessica+Justin’s St. Joseph wedding, and today we’ve got a ton of beautiful photos to share from the talented ladies at Jennifer Mayo Studios! I absolutely loved these bridesmaids dresses, and the bright color combo used in the flowers and centerpieces, created by Beikmann Associates—it was such a fun & lively color combo and it perfectly reflected this fun couple! And look at those beautiful sparkling waters of Lake Michigan! You just can’t beat a ceremony on the lake, and the weather was absolutely gorgeous as these 2 tied the knot with Rev. Bonnie Corondan!
