Back in June, this happy couple said “I Do” in beautiful Southwest Michigan. Their intimate church ceremony was followed by an anthropologie-inspired reception at The Veranda @ The Whitcomb, where guests enjoyed a delicious meal form CK Catering and a band that kept them dancing all night long. One of my favorite things about this wedding was how unique everything was. Each and every one of the guest tables was completely different.
We used a huge collection of milk glass, vintage bottles and silver pieces to create an eclectic mix of centerpieces. A huge thanks to Crystal Springs Florist for pulling it all together! Another detail we just loved was the cake topper! The bride and groom both love owls and their cake topper was two owls in a nest – so cute! The burlap runners added a nice touch of texture to the tables while still keeping the tables bright and clean looking–simplicity was definitely the key to this one! A huge thanks to the girls at 430 Studios for capturing the beautiful details of the day.
Laura and Joe tied the knot in October, on a beautiful fall day in Southwest Michigan. I (Jessica) designed their wedding, and Brittany coordinated it…I’ve been so excited to see the photos and video of their special day! The ceremony took place at St. Johns Catholic Parish with a reception at The Veranda at the Whitcomb in downtown St. Joseph. They had a gorgeous fall color palette of oranges, reds and yellows, with a pop of plum. We’ll post more about details later, but here is a fabulous video sneak peek from Jason at Highway 61 Films:
We love, love, love seeing our brides & grooms on video! Check out this beautiful trailer from Coastline Studios, of Jill & Ryan’s 2011 wedding at the Blue Dress Barn. Jill was an absolutely gorgeous bride (LOVE her dress!) and she had some amazing details! Stella planner Mary Beth was there on the wedding day to help pull together all of the details and make sure everything looked perfect! From the escort card display to the centerpiece vases collected by family members, I just love the details of this wedding!
Kate+Kyle’s wedding may have been one of the most hand-crafted affairs we’ve seen all summer. From the beautiful floral arrangements to the hand-lettered chalkboards to the fresh-made blueberry mint lemonade, this lovely bride had her hands in just about every detail of her beautiful Michigan wedding! The adorable hand-painted wooden cake topper…made by the bride! The delicious jars of jam given to guests…she made those, too! Even all of the ceremony flowers were lovingly arranged by the bride and her mother. Kate+Kyles gorgeous wedding day took place at a friends farm in Three Oaks, Michigan, just outside of Harbor Country, which is an absolutely gorgeous area for a wedding! Guests arrived and were greeted with homemade blueberry mint lemonade (delicious!) and the couple tied the knot on the lawn, with cocktail hour following in the barn. The bride and her bridesmaids carried adorable paper bouquets that were just adorable (etsy of course). Between the ceremony and the reception guests snapped polaroids of one another and used them to create a guest book for the couple. The event was casual and intimate with open-seating (check out the adorable sign below) and a delicious tapas-style meal, provided by Cravings Catering in Southwest Michigan.
The delicious cupcakes were crafted by Froehlich’s bakery in Three Oaks and dancing went on for hours thanks to DJ John Correll! Kate+Kyle, we had an amazing time helping you bring together all of your gorgeous details—thank you for letting us be part of your special day and we wish you many more beautiful days to come!
2011 wedding season is right around the corner, but we still have some fabulous 2010 weddings to share! Amber+Jakes beautiful vineyard wedding was featured on Fresh Coast Weddings a few months ago, but in case you missed it we’re excited to share! This was another wedding day that started with rain, but true to Michigan weather, it cleared in time for the outdoor ceremony and turned out to be a lovely day. All of the beautiful images were captured by Southwest Michigan wedding photographer Ben Pancoast. All of the gorgeous florals were created by the brides very-talented mom, and the cake was provided by Bit of Swiss bakery in Stevensville. One of my favorite moments of this wedding was when the bride arrived with her father in a horse-drawn carriage. It was romantic and what a great way for a bride and her father to have some quiet moments to talk before the ceremony!
Justin+Lisa tied the knot in August and it was an absolutely beautiful day! I love that despite having to move in from the beach, they still had a very beautiful beach-inspired ceremony at their “plan B” location, Krasl Art Center in downtown St. Joseph. Check out these gorgeous videos by All Star Productions—beautiful Lake Michigan is a welcome escape from this cold!
There are a lot of things I love about this wedding: the amazing orchid & crystal chandelier adorning the stunning chuppah, the lush coral garden roses, gorgeous La Tavola linens, silver chiavari chairs and clusters of paper lanterns, an amazing band, a very fun group of family & friends, and a beautiful bride & groom!
As I’m looking out my window at “snow-pocalypse” 2011 (for those of us in the Midwest), I’m trying to tell myself that spring (and then summer) is just around the corner. On days like this it’s hard to remember what an amazingly beautiful place Southwest Michigan is in the summer! So as a little reminder, check out this absolutely stunning wedding trailer from Beth+Cesar’s September 2010 wedding on Lake Michigan, by Coastline Studios! Love this couple, love this location and love that this video looks like an amazing shot right out of a Pure Michigan ad! It makes me long for summer, warm days on beautiful Lake Michigan, and another wonderful wedding season.
You may remember I mentioned before that this entire wedding was bi-lingual, with the ceremony, stationery and speeches all spoken in English and Spanish, which was so special and beautiful! The beautiful tented reception began with cocktail hour on the lawn overlooking the Lake and ended with an amazing fireworks display over Lake Michigan! Once again I have to give a huge thanks to Coastline Studios for capturing the day in film, St Joseph wedding photographer Jennifer Mayo for her gorgeous photos, and the gang at Modern Day Floral for another gorgeous job well done!
Talk about an amazing location for your wedding—this tented wedding on Lake Michigan was absolutely stunning, from the beautifully draped tent to the lush florals by Modern Day Floral, to the incredible band, Maggie Speaks, out of Chicago. Talk about fun—the bride & groom even had their own custom tambourines to celebrate, and the night ended with a show-stopping fireworks display over the lake! It was most certainly a picture-perfect Lake shore wedding captured by Jennifer Mayo Studios!
There were so many things I loved about Beth+Cesar’s beautiful September wedding. The setting was amazing—-the brides parents home on Lake Michigan, under a gorgeous tent overlooking the lake. The view was absolutely stunning, the lush florals by Modern Day Floral were exquisite and there were some fantastic personal details tied in. There are so many beautiful photos from Jennifer Mayo Studios, we’ll be sharing them in several posts over the next few days!
After 3 days of some of the highest winds we had all summer, Beth+Cesar’s day started full of sunshine, and calm skies! I’m so thankful when that happens! The photos speak for themselves on this one…a lovely couple, amazing location, tons of family & friends and lots of fun!
One of my favorite things about this wedding was how much attention Beth put into making Cesar’s family (flown in from Spain) feel included and welcomed, despite a language barrier. Every piece of stationery from invitations to table numbers, to the program, were bi-lingual. During the reception, speeches were translated via small headsets. During the ceremony, readings and vows were also recited in both English and Spanish. It was something that struck me as extremely personal and such a beautiful inclusion.
I love a great Michigan barn wedding. The only thing better is a barn wedding on a gorgeous fall day, with a beautiful couple, super nice family and a rockin’ band. And that’s exactly what we had on October 9th….an absolutely gorgeous day for Brynne+Brady to tie the knot at Millcreek barns! I have to say, Brynne’s dress is one of my all-time favorites, and I absolutely loved that the bridesmaids were bundled up in matching boots, scarves, hats and sweaters—it was so adorable and kept everyone toasty warm and comfortable! Check out Brynne’s bouquet in the top right picture—-yep, those are buttons! Brynne’s crafty mom Melanie fashioned all of the bouquets and boutonnieres out of buttons and they were absolutely fabulous.
Another thing I loved was the coffee cart from American Espresso. We set them up right in the dining room and they provided guests with made-to-order coffees, hot chocolate, espresso, cappuccino, hot ciders, Italian sodas…it was a huge hit and perfect for a cool fall day! Every detail of this detail was beautiful, and lovingly created the mother of the bride, Melanie. She was a pleasure to work with and we were so happy to help her bring all of her details to life so she could relax and be the MOB for the day!
All of the beautiful images were captured by Lisa & Rob of Walcott Imaging! Here’s one more of that awesome bouquet and the bridesmaids attire—love it!
